La Piscifactoría Sierra Nevada de Riofrío se ha alzado con el Premio Alas a la Internacionalización en la categoría de Iniciación a la Exportación.
El jurado ha decidido premiar los esfuerzos de la empresa granadina para afianzar su presencia en Europa, Estados Unidos y Medio Oriente e iniciar las relaciones comerciales con China y Corea del Sur para su distribución en Asia.
El acto de entrega de los galardones, que se celebró el 21 de noviembre de 2008 en un acto organizado en Almería, fue presidido por el presidente de la Junta de Andalucía, Manuel Chaves. El jefe del Ejecutivo recordó que la piscifactoría lojeña es la única empresa en todo el mundo "capaz de comercializar caviar 100% ecológico que, precisamente, procede de una especie de esturión originaria del Río Guadalquivir", al tiempo que aplica técnicas de vanguardia, con una inversión en I+D del 40 por ciento de sus beneficios.
